Professional Development
* Early Educators Scholarship Program The state of Massachusetts offers scholarships to child care providers to pursue degrees in early childhood education or a related field. Applications for scholarships for the 2007-2008 school year are expected to be available in March 2007.
* Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential The CDA Credential is a national credential awarded to early childhood professionals, including family child care providers, who meet a set of competency goals and complete an assessment process.
* National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) Accreditation NAFCC accreditation is the only national accreditation program for family child care providers. Accreditation verifies that family child care providers are offering high-quality care in their homes.

State and National Organizations for Child Care Providers
* National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) NAEYC is made up of early childhood professionals and others working on behalf of young children (birth through age eight). NAEYC has nearly 100,000 members, and over 300 local, state, and regional affiliates.
* Massachusetts Association for the Education of Young Children (MassAEYC) MassAEYC is the Massachusetts affiliate of NAEYC, and has over 2100 members across the Commonwealth. There are seven local affiliates.
* National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) NAFCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting quality child care by strengthening the profession of family child care.
